Amlozaar-H is a combination antihypertensive medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains three active ingredients:
Amlodipine – a calcium channel blocker
Losartan – an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB)
Hydrochlorothiazide – a thiazide diuretic

Description
1. Composition
Amlozaar-H contains:
Amlodipine (Calcium Channel Blocker)
Losartan Potassium (Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker)
Hydrochlorothiazide (Thiazide Diuretic)
2. Mechanism of Action
Amlodipine blocks calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle → causes vasodilation → reduces peripheral resistance.
Losartan blocks angiotensin II receptors → prevents vasoconstriction and aldosterone release → lowers blood pressure.
Hydrochlorothiazide increases excretion of sodium and water → reduces blood volume → decreases blood pressure.
Together, they provide a synergistic effect for better BP control.
