Description
Arvast A 75 mg contains atorvastatin, a statin medication used primarily for dyslipidemia and cardiovascular risk reduction. It works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis. This leads to decreased production of LDL cholesterol (“bad cholesterol”) and total cholesterol, while moderately increasing HDL cholesterol (“good cholesterol”).
Indications:
Primary hypercholesterolemia
Mixed dyslipidemia
Prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in high-risk patients
Familial hypercholesterolemia
Dosage & Administration:
Usually taken once daily, with or without food.
Dose adjustment may be required based on lipid levels and patient tolerance.
Regular monitoring of lipid profile and liver function is recommended.
