BRIVEX EYE DROPS

Description

1. Composition & Mechanism

BRIVEX E/D Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Brinzolamide (1%) — a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, which reduces aqueous humour production in the eye.

• Brimonidine (0.2%) — an alpha‑2 adrenergic agonist, which decreases fluid production and increases fluid outflow from the eye.

Together, they lower elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) more effectively than either medicine alone.

2. Indications

BRIVEX E/D is prescribed to:

• Treat open‑angle glaucoma (the most common form of glaucoma).

• Manage ocular hypertension (high eye pressure without optic nerve damage).

Lowering IOP helps protect the optic nerve and reduces risk of vision loss.

3. How It Works

• Reduces aqueous humour production (less fluid, lower pressure).

• Improves fluid outflow (helps eye fluid drain).

• Provides combined action leading to better pressure control with a single eye drop.
