Uses
Mupicip Ointment is prescribed for the treatment of:
- Impetigo
- Infected minor cuts and wounds
- Boils (furuncles)
- Folliculitis
- Other localized bacterial skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria
How It Works
Mupirocin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by blocking a bacterial enzyme required for growth. This kills or stops the growth of bacteria, allowing the skin infection to heal. It is not effective against viral or fungal skin infections.
How to Use
- Clean and dry the affected area before application.
- Apply a thin layer 2–3 times daily or as directed by your doctor.
- Wash your hands before and after use.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early.
