Description

1. Introduction

Jalra 50 mg is a tablet used for the management of Type 2 Diabetes in adults. It contains Vildagliptin, which helps regulate blood glucose levels. It is often used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic drugs such as Metformin when blood sugar is not adequately controlled.

2. Mechanism of Action

Vildagliptin inhibits the enzyme Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4). This leads to increased levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP), which:

• Increase insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells

• Decrease glucagon secretion from alpha cells

• Reduce glucose production in the liver

This results in improved blood glucose control.
